    hi guys,
anybody has any experiences to cure 'Green water", plz share some advice...
cos my tank has been plague with this problem for 2 months plus...kind of fed not being able to see my fishes...
i've read on the forum on the various ways to cure, but doesnt seem fruitful to me...
i've tried the "blackout method" changing water, i've tried reducing my lighting from 8 to 4 hours only, i've stop dosing liquid fert,
i removed decaying plants, even did a 100% water change....
now i'm thinking of resorting to those solution which claims to remove green water, though i guess it's not really advisable by some of u...

Those methods you tried usually work, especially balck out... but if it keeps coming then something is causing the re-occurance. You must fix the cause as well.

First of all, we need to know more about your tank... cut and paste the text from the "help request form" and fill in the info.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

    1) Reduce your number of fishes to twenty plus.
    2) Start dosing your fertilisers.
    3) Reduce your feeding of fishes.
    4) Make sure there's no sunlight.
    5) Buy some fast-growing plants like hornwort, common stem plants and place them in your tank to suck up excess nutrients.
    6) Try not to disturb your filter any furthur.

Personally, for my green water problem in my non-CO2 4 litre tank, I reduced the feeding and did away with fertilisers and it went away with increased plant growth. I feel you might not have enough plants in your 3 feet tank. The above steps are just a few suggestions to rule out as many possibilities of problems causing that green water.
