For new setup, normally pple don't put fishes or shrimps in until 2 or 3 weeks later. By then won't the chemicals loose it's effectiveness?

Even if you were to put chemicals into the tank for the first 2 weeks by then the snail's eggs would have hatched and would have been killed by the chemicals. Again by the time you introduce shrimps or fishes the chemicals won't be toxic to the shrimps anymore especailly when you'll be changing water and further diluting whatever residue from the chemicals that is in the tank? Do correct me if i'm wrong. Thanks.

Some of the heavy metals used for killing snails might remain and is difficult to remove... Running the water through activated carbon for a month will help...
