Where can I find the description for the PPS method. The term is used in APC but I can't find the article describing PPS.

That's a question best asked in APC itself. It's in the PDF files. I was looking high and low for it too, and in the end I found it in the PDF files... and there isn't a very obvious section that describes the whole thing. I kinda figured it out after reading most of the documentation.

You should read the debate about EI vs PPS there too.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

I am into low maintenance tank with minimal testing so for the time being I will not be trying out the PPS system.

Then look into non CO2 planted tanks, very low maintainance, no testing, no water changes.

Our personal habits best dictate which method works well for us and there are trade offs for each and gains.

An older version along the same lines as PPS is the list of recommeneded ranges and parameters off SFBAAPS's site under references.

PPS can be used without test kits also, you then do weekly water changes and dose pretty the same things as EI, except in liquid form. But then it's EI, not really PPS.

The ferts are the same, the main difference is using test kits or water changes.

But a good eye can avoid both the test kit and the water change for quite some time.......

So it goes back to the user's habits once a again......
Most of the issues witgh PPS stem from poor CO2.
The same is true of EI for that matter..........

I am already very much into low maintenace tank, with no CO2, minimal fertiliser dosing and minimal water change. I have 4 such tanks and they are doing great.
