Choong Sua is at Beauty World Plaza, beside Beauty World Centre. There's a Hong Leong Finance at the ground floor. Head in, go up the escalator and you'll see the shop facing the escalator. I go there every week for my regular supply of worms and usually there's something new to gawk at.

I never had any problems with Dario, even in small tanks. They are not that aggressive to start with. But of course, sometimes there might be some ultra-aggressive individuals but I guess I'm lucky.

I used to frequent Go Nature when my army base was at Nee Soon but I've not been there for a very long time. I know they got nice and good sized Dario every now. Worth a look anytime.

Haha, I stay in Bukit Batok too. Sure, leave me a PM a day before you head out. We'll meet up if I'm free.

The Dario dario at CS also got plenty of females if I recall correctly.

C328 usually brings in an assorted range of Badis species on irregular occasions, including the small Dario dario. If you saw "black" ones you probably saw either Badis badis or the recent bunch of Badis kanabos. Look closely, the Dario are very small in size and are scarlet red, for the males at least.

On occasions there will be some Dario dario that happen to have black marks on their body. I don't know what causes this, probably some type of skin injury but they are unmistakeable since they're so small and they're the most common Dario species out there.

I don't think I've seen Dario hysginon or Dario dayingensis for sale here and besides, Dario dario is farmed on a large scale here in SG and in Thailand.

Mine is a black drab-looking one. Dun look any fancy at all. Do they fight with the other fishes? I have also been looking for Dario dario in c328, might have to go to CS to get now.

Is this black-looking drab one something like this? These were tentatively identified as Badis kanabos. Badis badis has a slightly different pattern and the males are usually bluish in colour.

    Nicholas, let me guess:

Badis corycaeus (came in some time ago at Gratiola)
Badis badis (commonly found species - Biotope has some)
Badis kanabos (also frequently in stock at the shops - C328 for example)

    And perhaps, Dario dario too?

But of course, if you have Badis ferrarisi or Badis tuivaiei, you'd really be envied.

just note that when you google many of the images may be wrong. even images in FishBase is not guarantee you have to see who submitted the images. Especially true for the less common species.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
