    No idea

On 2 May, noticed he was near the surface a lot. Looked for any abnormal signs on body, etc...but found nothing. Checked water parameters...nothing wrong.

    3 May...gone...

I hate this when there are no sign of disease and next thing the fish died...

Weird -- my male German Ram died too. Noticed the body just now during water change. Funny -- he was eating well just a day before. Could the small female have done it? She's quite aggressive in chasing other bigger sized fish away.

hey Nizz, sorry to hear that! At least while you still had it, you know it had a good life. I have a blue ram to spare if you want a replacement.

my 3rd ram died recently as well. it stayed near the surface and seem to breath faster than usual. the next day, it's gone. i don't have much success with rams ... all of them died in less than 3 weeks. they are very shy and tend to stay low and swim among the plants ... this makes feeding very dificult. i've to feed more than usual so that some of the fine pellets drop down to them but they didnm't eat. as a result, i think i upset the balance of the tank with too much food and eventually killed some of the other fishes.

it's a shame. i don't think i will have a rams among my tetras like in some of the books.

    Peter,

i suggest giving live food first and let them get use to their new home. Eventually followed by some sinking food like Sera Nip.
