is water change for moss tank a must?!?!

recently practice topping up water for my moss tank_ been abt 2mth. my foreground java moss bed started to turn brown-unhealthy. those on driftwood and bogwood still looks fine.

wonder whether isit due to some chemical bulit up??!?! temp maintain at 26.5c and dosing of fert done as normal. kinda heart pain to see my mths grown moss gone to waste.

already done WC and be switching back!

    hi richietay,

Is there any fauna in ur tank? if yes, u are advise to have WC to prevent nitrate build up. Can u giv more specs about ur tank so that the forumers here can have a better ideas what's goes wrong in ur tank

moss usually turn brown when temp is too high.

water change helps to lower amonia level in ur water esp if u have heavy bioload or feeding regularly...it's good to do WC on at least a fortnight basis to maintain good water condition....
as in how come it will affect ur moss, hmm....puzzled too.....did u do anything else during this period or wat....???

It could be trace elements. Some folks here add Seachem Equilibrium when their nanas turned transluscent (young leaves).
