Hi just want to ask what are the chances of fish surviving without one eye?

I must have been very unlucky; bought 8 Ladigesia roloffi from an LFS but couldnt see properly under the cramped tank conditions.

Only at home did I realise 2 of them had one of their eyes missing!
That was 3 days ago; the two cyclops are still swimming with the school with no visible sign of fatigue or weakness.

    cheers,
    Davidd

A bigger question is, David, are you currently in Singapore or in some other foreign land?

I have had a scissortail rasbora with one eye for about a year. Another long serving oto is also a one-eye jack. Just ensure the fish gets enough to eat and it should be fine.

hahaha of course I'm in Singapore lah.

I got it from C328 last week.

caveat: I THINK it is L roloffi: small, colourless except for a very thin neon green line running through it. Is that it?

Too bad my tank is new, otherwise I'd have gotten more.

Wrong fish, if its small and has a green line running through it, then its Horadandia atukorali. I saw plenty at C328 the past few weeks I was there. They're actually very plain. Interesting little fishes, and very tough too.

If they were Ladigesia roloffi, they'd look something like this:

They're not actually green, but rather colourless on the body and the yellow parts are actually slightly red when they are in good health.

Aiya don't worry, we'll definitely share the spoils. I've always had a soft spot for African characins.
