    Guys,

How we notice that our DIY CO2 has expired?
    Does it stop bubbling...?
Read somewhere in this forum that unstable CO2 from DIY can cause algae.
So to prevent that, I want to make sure that I get the new DIY CO2 solution before the old ones expired...

beside looking from the bubble counter, there are not much way to know whether ur diy is expired unless u wan to scrutinse the bottle and see if there are tiny bubbles forming at the top.....

You should not wait till the solution stops bubbling to change it. The production rate will be too low way before that happens. You should guage by the rate of bubbles per sec. Observer your setups over time... and you can roughly guess when you should cahnge it. Rate of plant growth is another good indicator..

Generally, the formulas commonly available on this forum and the Internet should be changed every 2 weeks.

For larger tanks, some people use multiple bottles and I usually recommend that they change alternate bottles every week. Then the bottles will smooth out the curve of CO2 production.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

You can easily DIY your own bubble counter. But if you have no bubble counter and you cannot see the rate of the bubbles coming out, then once the brew looks like it is becoming clear (from murky/cloudy), you should change it.
