    Hi,

I was just wondering if the mentioned plants can do without water for up to a week. Anyone has done any experiments on this?

    Cheers,
    Weirong

Java Moss, Java Fern should be able to survive that period in a seal moist bag and in darkness. I kept some in my fridge this way.

Riccia, maybe possible. If kept in moist bag and with light source even better.

I once kept hair grass [bought from Teo Farm] this way in the fridge and replanted them in my tank 3 weeks later. Still grow.

Moist bag? Any kind of bags? Like airtight Ziploc bags? so how moist is considered sufficient? Would these be able to last a week in darkness?

Looks like you are thinking of sending plants overseas.

If this is the case, pack them in moist newspaper and in a tupperware box. They should be able to last a week without problem and will not be crushed while in transit.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Yes! I need to send some samples to a very good friend in the States. So I am estimating a week for them to get there. Thanks for the info!

Oh.. DO NOT DECLARE the contents as plants. It will definitely be confiscated. Put something like tissue sample or something like that.
