The newt's size is great for your 2ft tank... if your water space is big enough, especially... What type is your feeder, anyway?

Looking good!! I like the layout actually. But it seems to lack something which I can't quite place my finger on it.

Do keep us posted on the developments.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Insecticide?? Then how to introduce critters to eat your spiders? Maybe a skink can help... But please do not put it in now as the insecticide will just kill it...

    Caught the skink-fever, eh, Thomas?

Junde, now that you have used insecticides, you may have to wait a couple of weeks before you can remedy the situation properly. In the mean time, you may want to set up a fan to blow off the insecticides.

After that, since your is a fairly dry set up, you can try a skink or even a cricket or a praying-mantis if you don't mind a carnivorous insect in place of the spiders.

You can get crickets from the LFS, where they are sold as feeders. I would in fact advise to use them to test if your tank is fully decontaminated before introducing any other critters. You may have to bear with their truly lovely songs, though.

When you get tired of the crickets (if they survive), you can introduce a skink OR a praying-matis. I find praying-mantis to be more fun, but they are quite rarely found now a days. About 5 or 6 years ago, my son kept one which flew into the flat as a pet. Called it "Mr Green", but later change its name to "Mrs Green" when she started making an egg pouch. She lived for many months and had hundreds of off-springs before she died of old age in the hand of a friend who took over when we went overseas.

    /John

That fella is doing fine in a temp setup eating mealworms...

A mantis would do great for Junde's setup... Hmm... We never tot of adding insects in our tanks...

We saw a mantis during the AQ excursion... It was trying to hitch a ride to Teo's I think...

It looks like you cut out a peice of moss-covered ground and put it in a glass box! Very nice!
