    Hi Guys, need some help in filling up the blanks as I need some information regarding the few algaes(sp?).
    Doing an information report (school assignment) regarding common freshwater algae.

    Brown Algae
    Causes:
    Indication:
    Remedy:
    Prevention:

    Green Water
    Causes:
    Indication:
    Remedy:
    Prevention:

    Green Spot Algae
    Causes:
    Indication:
    Remedy:
    Prevention:

    Staghorn Algae
    Causes:
    Indication:
    Remedy:
    Prevention:

    Black Brush Algae
    Causes:
    Indication:
    Remedy:
    Prevention:

    *Causes - What conditions triggers it to invade the aquarium.
    *Indication - What are the early signs of possible invasion.
    *Remedy - What are the possible ways to solve the invasion.
    *Prevention - What can be done to avoid another possible invasion.

    Any other tips are welcome

    Remedy: Blackout, water change and best is to get UV filter

    Remedy: For glass, wipe it, for plants, nothing much can be done

    Indication: Hairy blackish algae on plants
    Remedy: Pump in co2 and improve water circulation
    Prevention: ensure good circulation of water, and pump in enough co2

    Staghorn is also from ammonia.
    Indication: Curly black stuff, very much like erm... hair on places generally not displayed to public.
    Remedy: Manual removal
    Prevention: General maintainence/no ammonia.

    This report is part of my module assignment, so I have decided to do something which I am quite familiar with
