Ich isn't that damaging nor difficult to cure. I bet something is not right in the tank still. Good plant growth equals healthy fishes.

It's Okay. I know the feeling.

Ever since my prized angel fish died, fishkeeping hasn't been the same for me.

The earlier you get used to seeing your fish die right before your eyes, the earlier you'll mature as a fishkeeper.

Really cannot resist... This is a VERY odd statement... No wonder you shocked PeterGwee... Haha...

elmike, no offense, there ARE people who massacre their fishy pets and just get new ones to see them die again... That does not mean that they qualify as mature fishkeepers... Keke...

But I am not indicating anyone here ah... If you are asking questions here, it shows that you are learning and want to prevent things from happening again...

    Cheers!

I know the heartache... I lost my arowana a few months ago. I was at Aquarama a few days later and I couldn't even bare to go see the arowana competition.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:

A woman: without her, man is nothing.

yah.. tat was what i saw today... it was juz sitting on my pump the whole day... then suddenly it juz got violent and rushing and banging ard the tank... and rite in front of me, it freezed...

my cherries suffered from the same dead... freezed in mid tank and plunged straight down...

peter, yah... i think there is something very wrong wif my tank after my transfer... my glossos are no longer pearling like they used to be and my gravel no longer has bubbles forming in the top layer...

java ferns and nanas has bubbles forming underneath the leaves (so they are photosynthesizing)... protein layer forming on the surface... my grass plant (japonica?) not doing well... top of the leaves turning thin and curly...

my current lighting is 55w for a 2ft...
but i found tat my NO3 from my test kit is quite low...
    NO2 is negligible...
has a diy co2 setup (juz changed a new bottle), 3-4 bubbles per sec diffused using an inverted live food holder... (no efficient, i know)
PH is between 6.4 and 6.8
KH and GH is very high (can't remember liaoz)
no base fert, only dosing seachem fluorish and fluroish trace every other day...

still reading thru the forum to figure out wat is wrong...

Cats can be fast... I am surprised that newts can be fast too... I turned around and I lost 3 wild bettas and 1 fancy guppy!... But this kind of loss is different from seeing them die from sickness... I have cardinals suddenly go beserk, spin around wildly and then within the day, usually disappear... Or a fish gasping on the surface at night and its body floating around the next morning...

One big fish died in front of me this morning. I was holding it, and my partner was putting some medication directly on the wound...it jumped and hit the glass badly and crashed its head....

Thanks for digging up the thread... A couple of days/weeks ago, I witnessed my beloved gobies suddenly went berserk and rush around and then die... Very gek sim... Especially when it was feeding normally just some time ago... They went berserk RIGHT after my canister filter decide to spew fine particles into the water... Why ah?
