If it grows upwards, it'll probably be your lights... insufficient lighting...
need help here ....this is the first time i am playing with APP, i thought APP is supposed to be a foreground plant?
but it seems to be growing upwards, is there any way other than using the tweezers to pinch it down
have been putting gravel over it to put it down, any other ways?

If it grows upwards, it'll probably be your lights... insufficient lighting...
we need more of yr tank info before we can actually say what's the problem. But when plants like Glosso and APP starts to grow upwards, it could be a sign for lack of the followings : Lights,Co2.
Cheers!

i doubt it is the lack of lighting or CO2 leh .... here are my specs of my tank
Size: 3x1.5x1.5 ft
Temp: 26 deg
Lighting: 144w (4x36w PL)
CO2: 2 bubbles per sec
that's why i am puzzled at why my APP still grows upwards ...

Kinda agree it could be lighting... but it seems that you have enuf..... btw, how long is the lighting duration? What kinda ferterlization do you practise?
me using two capsules of the dennerle gold 7 every week ... and a daily drop of dupla grow 24
photoperiod for my tank is 10 hrs a day .....
now my APP becomes the specimen plant instead of my red tiger lotus

then it could be the unexplain excuse of 'that plant simply cant grow well in the tank sydrome' we all know certain plants just would not wanna grow in some setup, even though all the requirement has been met.. but no matter, what/where to plant them, they jus to stubborn...
paul, did u try another batch of app from other source?
simon, how you know my name? i thought i very low profile over here ....
me dun know what to do leh ... it is growing very thickly, not forgetting upwards also ... very thick clump ....
me dun want glosso in the foreground coz it is pretty prone to algae attack

remeber u went for one outing? LOLz and I seen u a couple of times at tiong bahru[]
1. When you last change your light tube?
2. Any chance that the APP are shaded?
3. Any chance that it could be substrate problem?
My Apisto Keeping Diary
Apistogramma agassizii, Apistogramma bitaeniata "Careiro", Apistogramma brevis, Apistogramma elizabethae, Apistogramma eremnopyge, Apistogramma sp. "Miua", Dicrossus filamentosus
i just set my tank slightly more than a month back ... and my APP is growing like crazy ...
canot be any problem with the substrate as i am using dennerle deponit mix and dennerle substrate ... moreover, APP can absorb nutrients straight from the water itself

tried pushing them back into the gravel until only the top leaves show up ? this will "force" them to grow sideway.
