    Hi all,

Another fish that I recently bought and would like help in ID:

Anyone has any good links to the characteristics/profile of the fish? Any tips on how to make their colours come out? It seems that some of those that I have are brighter coloured than the others. Some are even quite plain.
    Cheers,
    Joe

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Give them some time Joe, wild fish needs time to aclimatize. Losses might also be likely, but once they established in the tank, they are very hardy.

So far the 10 that I bought are still around. Initially I was worried that they would not be able to get the fish food as the pellets seemed too big for them... everytime they eat the food they would spit it back out after a while... ... but so far they look ok... so I assumed that somehow they are still getting fed...
    Cheers,
    Joe

Try tubifex worms. That's what I did. About the parasites thing, it's pretty much a personal choice. Fish is like that, can go without food for a long time.

Isn't tubifex worms even bigger for them to eat?

I am thinking brine shrimp, but nowadays lazy to hatch them, so if they can survive on the fish food I would keep it that way. Also, no LFS near our place that I can buy BBS...
