    I see some BBA lookalike algae growing on my bogwood but they are bright green in colour, not black like shown in the pictures herehttp://www.otocinclus.com/articles/algae.html

    Are they BBA too?

    Hi Peter,

    No, it looks like litter clumps of BBA but bright green in colour. It looks short and 'neat'.

    I don't have a digital camera to take a pic of it.

    No, it's like what Chryl has said, it's exactly like BBA, but green in colour. I had it alongside my normal BBA too.

    It doesn't look too ugly..infact, if the whole bogwood is covered with this algae, it actually looks quite pleasant to me.
    Its got the 'velvet' appeal.

    I remembered an old thread talking about this algae before. I tried to search but couldn't find it.

    i got the green version also.. on parts of my wood.. i'll try to get a pic of it and post it.. it's pleasant and natural.. not causing a problem to other stuff..

    I think the driftwoods in some of NA's tanks have it too. It looks pretty good.

    Found similar threads talking about the algae I was referring to. It seemed that some said its BBA, some said 'unidentified'.
