Okies... Got meself a Sigma 105mm Macro lens from Green Baron and tried it out...

    Green Baron's Rainbowfish...

A little blur at the tail, reason?

My 4 year old black skirt tetras...

    Paddletailed newt...

    Cardinals...

Yamato shrimp, a little blur liao...

    Skink, head shot...

Ok... How to get a good focus on this skink? It is staying in a plastic tank with curved edges and it doesn't quite like human fingers...

Where to focus on this?? Or do I need to reduce the aperture to get a better depth of field, then increase the lighting to reduce effects of the hand shaking?

you defintely need to increase yr DOF, also a faster shutter speed will help reduce handshakes. as for the newt, I think better not to use a curve container for photography purpose.

Thanks, Simon, the skink, you mean? It doesn't like to be moved... easily spooked... I shall see what I can do to move it to different enclosure.

Problem is getting a good DOF means smaller aperture, means less light and supposedly slower shuttle speed with no additional light... What aperture would be good? Hmm... With no additional flash, they contradict... Pics turn out black if I go for both...

If the subjects don't move, use a tripod. If you need to borrow one, let me know.

Can already see the potential!! Keep it up Thomas!
