Bioplast just got a shipment of very interesting stuff from Burma. Got myself some badis badis, an unidentified loach, two microrasbora and two rare Burmese chocolate gouramis!

They also have this glowlight danio-like fish, but is yellow rather than orange, and this cross between a pearl and leopard danio. Stranger is a tank full of little freshwater pipefish and this tiny worm like fish related i think to anchovies.

the pipefish very small only lah, about 1 inch. wks, it's not maculata, brigittae or axelrodi, it's one of those obscure species that looks like a danioella. I am going down to whack the remaining chocolate gouramis today (the ones i got have started building bubble nest).

Burma is one of the last frontiers for new fishes today, with its thousands of lakes, rivers and waterways. One thing I find is that Thailand and Myanmar contain plenty of what i called microhabitats, which seem to favour ever-smaller fishes (all those tiny rasboras, loaches, bettas, liquorice gouramis, and badis badis). but of course to some people, these tiny jewels are just for feeding kok taus
