There are many medications for fungus in the LFS. Personally, I use Sera medications. But I do not keep Bettas.

For fungus infections, sometimes they are secondary diseases. They could be injured or infected by bacteria before getting the fungus. Sometimes they are simply weakened by stress or water conditions.

For me, I will use both anti-bacteria and anti-fungus together. KIASU...[]

Let us work together to preserve the world for our children to inherit by being responsible to our surroundings. Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints, bubbles and memories.

all you need to fight off fungus is salt
if you use antifungal meds it could swing the other way ie kill off your fish
even for very weak fish salt is acceptable, and sometimes the only thing you can use when the bugger is close to gasping his last

there's no point in adding antibiotics
especially when you don't use it as a complete course
the problem with antifungus treatments is we tend to stop using them when the fungus disappears
using antibiotics together and stopping treatment when you see the symptoms subside could mean you're breeding antibiotic resistant bacteria in your tank which could lead to a host of problems not just for the fish, but even the plants

vincent, what dosage of salt are you intending to use?

personally for fungus i'll use 1/2 tbps (~8ml) for ~20l of water

I'll just sprinkle some and change water regularly.

    Thanks,

i suggest you measure it out
"just sprinkling some" means you won't know how much you're putting in
if the dose is too low it won't do much for anything, and you might as well not be adding it

don't worry, let me estimate. I am using small containers, about 1-2 litres.

    salt.

if 2 liter container, add 1 heaping teaspoonful.

dont worry it takes far too much salt to overdose.

Thanks for the advice. After I use a little salt, there hasn't been any disease outbreak. salt is really quite effective.
