rasbora? wat types of plants?
rasbora? wat types of plants?
Hi simon
mostly java moss , ferns and anubias nana.
I Love Penang
hmmmm.. try rasbora, malayan... use some asian fishes and shrimps.. add some cryptos... make it a sabah biotope
Simon,
Why Rasboras? IMO, you should put in Apistogrammas.... they are quite hardy and able to withstand low oxygenated water.
how about fighting fishes?

You can put in Fighting fish (Betta splendens) but you can only put in not more than one. How big is the tank anyway? I suggest Apistos cos you'll love them.
It's about 18in x 12in x12in.
Appistos are expensive.
feel the pinch when they die.

heh, the best fish would be longkang guppies, free supply, nice colours, small (just take the males) so you can keep a lot, and if they can live in the longkang surely they can live in your tank----------------

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

[] to me, low tech means no co2, no ph tester, normal lighting (2ft-15w, smaller tanks-11w), hardy plants, but eheim still a must (canister or liberty for small tanks).
... like mine![]
P-L-E-C-O-R-Y=M-A-N-I-A!!! YEAH!
FLORENCE, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science.
low tech = having the same result using low tech equipments (DIY C02, sunlight/light fixture oso can, PMDD)
Wah .. no co2, no light = low tech tank.
That's bascially quite a plain tank where you will really need hardy plants.... If that's the case, I think my 1.5ft tank is really considered as a low tech tank. Basically, just a hang-on filter+fish+gravel+fish.
