This might sound like a stupid question, but is there any way to "force" C.Wenditii to be dark green? I know this might depend on the palnt variations, but I'm just hopeful

I've given up on the colors for this species. The brown ones turn green and the green ones turn brown. Confusing.

I think the water parimeter control must be superb to present this species in optimal condition.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Lol! Perhaps to be sure of the colour one has to buy from Tropica

So I guess no one knows. I was hoping for the crypts in my tank to grow a dark rich green.

Same here. It has frustrated me for a long time. All my hopeful greens turn brown once the submerged leaves come out. Ruins my colour scheme, ahem.

Just a thought, maybe try more Potassium nitrate to green it up, no?
    Regards

But if the plant was meant to be light green, it will be light green. =/

My plan will be to get some plant hormones over the next few days and go crazy on fertilisation and see if I can't get the plant to "lush-green" up.

if they're meant to be dark green they will be
if they were dark green but turned yellow something is wrong with the water or the fert
i saw this happen with my 4ft tank which the filter dieded and i didn't change water for over 2 years
surprisingly they survived and recovered when i redid the tank
    hardy little buggers, crypts

    Hi,

All my crypt leaves grew until some point and starting to melt (more like some thing chew on it). I only have oto as algae eater, other fishes like cardinal, rummy nose, emperor tetra, rasboras, etc. Sometime I saw the fishes nibbling on the leaves, are they culprit ?

What other condition can cause this happen ? If not melt/chew up, the leaves are in perfect condition and looks healthy.

I had a brown that had was kinda red. I chopped it down after an algae outbreak and now it`s coming back green. Go figure.
