    ----------------
the "SP" is short for species and is used (in lowercase and italicised) when the species is not known or unspecified. Incidentally scientific names are written with the genus in first capital and the species fully in lowercase except when the species name contains a pronoun used as variety name. So Tonina sp., and Tonina fluviatilis but never tonina fluviatilis or Tonina Fluviatilis...

    Hi Johnny,
For normal tonina(pu tong tai yang cao)it's scientific is still not so sure, so Tonina sp should be it's temporary latin name. Broad leaf tonina( kuan ye tai yang cao)should be Tonina fluviatilis as we should trust Tropica's reputation.

pu tong tai yang cao(Tonina sp)
kuan ye tai yang cao(Tonina fluviatilis)
hong tai yang cao(Tonina sp,Red form)
ju jing tai yang cao or xi ye tai yang cao(Eriocauloncea sp. it is not belongs to Tonina sp)

Ha Ha, my favourite plant is finally available here at affordable price! For those who interested in cultivating this demanding plant in perfert condition, slightly acid substrate(such as ADA Amazonia Aquasoil, Nisso Volca Soil...) and low temparature(About 23oC) are preferable.

    p/s:
May i know how come the Chinese character cannot be shown here now? (previously the CC was accepted in this forum)

How to go to Teo by bus?(is it located at somewhere near AMK?)

    Thank you.

    DEA,
Sometime we have to compare many sources of info, i realized the Latin name in Taiwanese magazine cannot be trusted totally, stick to Tropica is better, just my two cents.

    Benetay,
Thank you, how's your 6ft planted tank now?

alfa you are absolutely right. I have a mag showing the same plant in front and at back of magazine and they go by different names []
