I played with Apeture only slightly a bit..its the case with manual cam and digital cam..Apeture takes away many of the additional steps needed in PS and yet gets you the same result...the image viewing is also more versatile and saves a hell lot of time as compared to PS. Apeture also takes the beginner to a professional in a very short time as compared to PS.

Anyone heard about lightroom by adobe? Unfortunately, only works for mac now...but there will be pc version soon. It is free for beta testing now...

Anyhow, I tried aperture...not as powderful as Photoshop CS 2. That's because Aperture is dedicated tool for RAW processing whereas CS is powerful tool for both graphics and pics, etc...

Why is the mac call the white side? Because of the color? So PCs are beige side?

    Cheers,

No layering concept though...well yeah ...Apeture is not exactly better than PSCS2, but the thing is Apeture is a more disciplined tool for learning and pro photographers alike. Apeture does not SALVAGE your bad shots...they ENHANCE. Most people use PSCS2 to salvage and not enhance, and that by any standards, reduces the discipline while doing photography, thinking they can get away with the trigger happy. Most of my students think that way until I got so pissed that I restricted a no layering editing for them in PSCS2, only then did they start to improve in their shoots.

I think it works differently for different people, they are just tools really, see what suits your purpose and that being, anything can be a great tool right?!
