Java Fern

Have planted some Java fern for about 5 mths. It seem not to grow very well. I could see leaves and roots started growing from the older leaves. Is this normal? Any advise please? Thanks.

apparently java fern propagates by growing daughter plants from the leave tips
that should be normal
it's also a very slow growing plant

some people like to have strong light shining on their slow growing plants thinking it'll make it grow faster
all it achieves is algae growing on them
juz have patience
