You doubt me har?? Boo hoo hoo!!!
I'll make sure I call them. I heard these fishes can be really fragile and often diseased... Is it true?
the real hexazona can be easily suseptible to whitespots, yes.

I bought some from the stock at Biotope. Very stable already. They are more sensitive than most barbs – a peat swamp fish preferring very acid water really. I suspect higher pH renders them prone to microbial attacks.
That's an interesting thought. Anyway, apisto/betta hobbyists seems to find water with ketapang leaves (lowered pH) makes the fish less prone to diseases too.Originally Posted by budak
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Actually, if I am not wrong, low pH lowers the possibility of whatever protozoans/parasites/bacterial that are available for causing diseases. Thus, the fish are naturally less prone to diseases and are therefore more susceptable in higher pH as they have lower immunity...
My 2 cents...

Yup, saw the red ones at Ben's. Quite large sizes.
Blue ones are a little more "beautiful" in the beholder's eyes?!
But hey, I never seen any green ones before.
How big does hexazonas grow up to?
around 4cm.

Just got mine today from Biotope. Cleared the entire tank man!
I think I got pentazonas instead of hexazonas ler...
When I was there, I didn't really see the dot at the dorsal. When I am back and got them acclimatised to my tank parameters... THE DOT appears!
Seriously, just one dot, what's really the difference. They really look the same!!! (
They do seem extremely healthy and active though.
