I know, there are many Crypts Growers in Singapore, so maybe we can share info about culture experience from guys around the world.

I have got an outdoor set up, for easy crypts (such as Sri Lanka from)

But, I have got another indoor set up to take a more close care of sensitive and delicate Crypts.

Any one who wants post his set up?

    Hey Xema!

    It's been a while! How's things?

I almost fell off my chair when I saw how impressive your emersed cultivation project is!!

How does your outdoor crypts survive the winter? I know it's not as cold in spain, but it's still cold compared to tropical Asia.

Not many of the folks here I know (and I don't know too many) keep them the way you do.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Doesn't Sri Lanka have winter months too? And yes, very impressive collection!

Actually I have 2 set up for emersed crypts. One outdoor, for easy sp and some anubias, and other one indoor for unussual sp.

We are having cold temperatures now, is winter of course. In the day ussualy it´s at 16ºC and 8ºC in the night, they are the extreme temperatures.

My cryptocorynes growing in outdoor set up are growing good. Only they have a low growth doe to the the low light in winter and the plastic sheet covering them (it´s a protection for the cold raining).

I keep warm into with a 50w aquarium heater under the gravel, and I distribute it with a little water pump around the set up.

Keeping a indoor set up is quite easy. An old tank, covered and lighting it lowly is enought.

I have a sort of just-for-fun setup of emersed cryptocoryne wendtii. It's really just a random setup, plants planted in ADA-like Aquasoil, soaked with water.

This isn't exactly good for the plant right? It's stagnant water and there's no drainage. Please tell me if I'm correct on this.

I think the crypts should do fine in that setup. BUT I also think you could be breeding mosquitoes...

Can't breed them, the soil is just soaked to the point of saturation.

Hey Xema, is the moss in the pots just to help hold the humidity? What soil do you like best? I`m sure you`ve tried a few.

Moss on top of soil protect of ungly black algae that grows in the pots.

Every sp. has a optimus soil.... for example, swamp forest species will not grow well in the same soil in which fast flowing species would do.
