i've seen water ways with tetra from SA...and they're breeding nicely over here but they don't breed like rabbits but it's still bad. luckily i've seen some gouramis and wild guppy.

And it depends on what kind of gourami too... at least we know the goldfish'll won't be a problem for long...
But it's really sad that many people don't know a thing about our ecosystem and go on to insist that guppies are native or that they've never seen "high class fish" before... -sigh- nothing like to army to kick you in the head...

On the other hand you've got to admire how much some people care about their pets. Whoever it was actually took the time to drive their goldfish all the way out here to let it go. I doubt it could've swam there on it's own.
So yeah, nice guy, innocent mistake, potentially serious consiquences... poor fish'll probably be snapped up by a snakehead or something.
Sad to say, if the stream is linked to any popular reservoir, it could jolly well mean that someone had released such 'exotic' fish into the system because they want to 'release' animals to have good karma. Especially so during Vesak Day. I think I can speak to my friends who are active at the temples to do something about such releases... We can't just depend on AVA to disseminate such info...

Goldfish probably is leftover bait from poachers going for snakehead.
Ditto the platies. They're discarded bait for Giant gourami or arowanna.

I was chasing a betta pugnax when suddenly... "AHH!! son of a fuc- woah... dwarf snakehead..." And I started chasing that one instead.
He got away when he went into the reserve, the pugnax stupidly went towards the terrace houses via this longkang and hid in his coke can house. Well, he's in my tank now
