I have tried a search and can't get any information or discussion on the above topic.
don't know if tis should be posted here or in the fert section.

the tank in question is a 4x1.5x1.5 ft.
substrate is used dennele deponit and gravel supplemented by root monster.
it is placed in shade and gets about 3 hrs of direct sunlight over a third to a half of the length.
the one third that does not get sunlight is covered in a dense java fern growth.
main players of plants are echinodorus and crypts.
    bio-load is 12 x rummies, 10 x oto and some yamatos.
CO2 is a DIY system with two bottles. replacement once a week.
hardness is low as is PH about 6.0 to 6.5
temparature range is 25 to 28 degrees. typical is 26 to 27 degrees.
    fert is lushgro 1tsp for K2SO4 and KNO3, 1/16th tsp for KH2PO4 and Fe-EDTA one a week.
with water change of about 30%.

my crypts are growing fine, not lush or strong but fine.
the problem is that older leaves rot at the tips and the margin turns yellow.
btw its not the crypt rot that is typical of tranplanting or emerse to submerse rot.
the rest of the leaf and plant is doing fine.

is this condition normal for older leaves? or is this because of a lack of some metals or calcium?
also, does Fe-EDTA contain trace elements too or just Fe?

CO2 and some proper trace mix like TMG or Regular Flourish. You go cheap on CO2 on such a big tank which is the biggest issue to a plant?

    thanks for the tip peter!
i will try to add another CO2 diffusor and the trace mix as suggested.
i can't add anything that reuires power as the tank is not sheltered from rain...
will post developments when they occur.

I thought it's true that old leaves die that way? They start melting at the tips and then turn yellow, and finally rot off. Usually I cut them off once they start tip-melting.
