Maximum number Of fishes in a tank?

Hi, just like to ask u guys how many fishes will be too many for a community tank? Say a 2X1X1.5 tank? Assuming most of them are tetras?

You need to give us more details of you tanks (e.g. filtration, etc.) and the species you intend to keep (some tetras are larger than others). Otherwise, all the comments given will be meaningless.

A general answer will be around 15, for asthetic and health reasons.

What kind of tetras... they do vary in size you know..

Welcome to Aquatic Quotient, I'll say if it's densely planted, max10-12 pcs. Sparsely like Squee said 15 pcs. Anything more would be overcrowding, dangerous if there is a outbreak of disease.

Hmm, sorry for the late reply, well, it is quite sparingly planted, means just cover the rear only. Roughly about 5 plants and 3 on driftwood types. For the tetras say cardinal, neon, black neon, corydoras, black tetra, harlequin hasbora, rummy nose. etc.... Cause think mine a bit overcrowded leh... How to actually see whether is it overcrowding?

Do you know what I've got 29 little things swimming around my 2x1x1, and there are plenty of times when I can't see a single one of them!!!

not really... ( see my 2 feet thread in aquascping) just have mostly small fish that are always zipping about!! And every so often they are all gone... makes me laugh
