You can inspect all three books the next time you come to my place or at the next C328 meeting.
I'm looking for people interested to do a review for any of these three books.
Cheers,
hi guys,
just want an opinion from fellow forumers who have the below books.
A) South American Dwarf Cichlids (Aqualog Book, Vol. 1 & 2) 190pp & 112pp
Amazon.com: South American Dwarf Cichlids (Aqualog Book, Vol. 1): H. J. Mayland, D. Bork, Dieter Bork, Hans J. Mayland: Books
B)Baensch/Mergus Cichlid Atlas, Vol. 1 - 1310pp
Amazon.com: Baensch/Mergus Cichlid Atlas, Vol. 1: Uwe Romer: Books
any comments on which is a more comprehensive book to start with?
points for consideration would be dwarf cichild basics and variety of fish coverage.
just from the page coverage i'd have to go with (B)!!

I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
CelticFish, the Baensch/Mergus Cichlid Atlas already has a 2nd edition if I'm not wrong. I was told the 2nd edition is an improvement from the 1st edition in that it has new cichlid species being added. I've got the 1st edition.

the pictures in aqualog are quite 'colorful' but they do not provide descriptions of the fish....only nice pictures to drool on...

Baensch/Mergus Cichlid Atlas is a good reference book for apisto keepers. It has quite a bit of information on each of the species.
If the preference is on pics, my favourite are the Taiwanese apisto book, as well as pics in the net (RVA site, this forum etc.. )
benny,
thank you!
BFG,
will check out for the second edition. thanks!
caca,
sound like the aqualog discus book i have minimal text/basic information but excellent pictures.
kray,
i think you're talking about the big black one i saw at C328 right. the cover is beautiful.

The German edition is out. But not the English one. It will take quite a while before the translated edition comes out.Originally Posted by Fei Miao

Huh, it is still not out yet? It's been like 2 years or so that I had the 1st edition.
