    Hi,
    Some Q to ask.

The male is trying to mate with the female apisto but the female seems
    not interested and turn away.

('"Wow" just look at the male dosal fin')

Hv observed this for the past 1 plus week.
Should i get a new female apisto to replace it?

    Thks

ya agree with benetay, check yr water condition... how big is yr tank? do u have enuff hiding places for them? wat species u have? when the male flares up, it doesnt alway mean he wanna mate, sometimes, its a show of aggression

Yup, lot of hiding place and cave (inverted flower pots, driftwood) and lot's of Ketapang leaves. The whole 2ft breeding tank is in complete darkness. Water parameter should be OK. I'm think the Temp may be the factor due to the hot temp. lately. Hope for the best.

I hv the common one like the Ap.cacat., Ap.euno., Ap. aga. etc (unlike the exotic one that some of u all hv.) majority get from Tropical Int.
Always missed those new shipment by LFs.

Is it alright to put different species of Apisto in the same tank?
My male Nijsenni is the most aggressive -- chasing every other Apisto away, including the females.

Initially bought 3 from Gan, and found that all were different sp.
Later added Nijsseni and Agassizzi from Toh.

A.nijsenni is one of the most aggressive and larger apisto species.they should be house in a tank by itself. The other can be
kept together if you have alot of hiding space.BTW,do you happen to have female A.rotkeil from Gan?

I don't have female Rotkeil, only the male. I don't know how a female looks like. So far I happen to get 3 males -- Rotkeil, Macmasteri, Gibbiceps from Gan. Do you think you can tell the females of the above 3 in Gan's tank?

Yup, all are put together in same tank.
Altogether 3 pairs each with 3 flower pot, their own cave and hiding place.

They chase each other only during feeding time.
Most of the time they are in their "cave".
