According to the gurus, no... Though this might be a case of repressed male getting dominant after the older one died. Is that possible?
Just a word of advice to all those who aren't aware of the nature world around us, hermaphrodism exist in some species of fish like barramundi, but it is becoming more prevalent in other species of animals other than fish rin recent years that was once rare or never occured before. It might be due to pollution. There apparently a link to toxic pollution in the North Atlantic Ocean and polar bears with two genetials.
But can such individuals still breed? Hmm... interesting.
it's`a male.

Well that explains PLENTY! Thanks for the info Mr Tree So males only develope the trailing section of the tail fin when they're sexually mature? or when they're the dominant male in the area?
first question - mature, yes, but not sure sexually or not..
if see them enough in the wild, only the really dominant ones have the extention...but most of the fish don't have perfect fins...
