Spanish pronunciation is actually one of the easiest, more so if one knows the Malay language.

    Buenos dias - good morning
    Buenas tardes - good afternoon
    Buenas noches - good night
    Adios - goodbye
Hasta la vista - till we meet again
    Lo siento - sorry
Muchas gracias - thank you very much
    Gracias - thank you
Por favor - excuse me (You guys must have heard this in 'Mind Your Language'.

Pretty straight-forward. You're planning to go to Spain?
a better way to say 'hasta la vista' is saying 'see you'.

Spanish has a very easy pronunciation, It say as is write... I think malayan is so too...

    Another interesting typcal sentences:

How are you? - ¿Cómo estas?
I am fine, and you? - Estoy muy bien, ¿y tu?
My name is Xema - Mi nombre es Xema
Where are you from? - ¿De dónde eres?
I am from Spain - Soy de España

I think the real problem to learn spanish for you is the verbs times... an example.

    I am - Yo soy
    You are - tu eres
    he is - el es
    she is - ella es
it is - doesn´t exist in spanish that pronoum
    you are - vosotros sois
    we are - nosotros somos
    they are - ellos son

more in the spanish lesson 2

    Wow! That's quite a lesson!

What's with the reverse question mark? We don't seem to have then even on our keyboard, much less knowing how to pronounce a symbol.

    CHeers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

    'hasta la vista' is spainish?

It seems spainish is an interesting subject to learn. I do hear from my friend who is currently learning spainish. The verbs are the killer to learn. There are so many types.

Wonder is there more simple words to learn. Like how to compliment a lady, etc.

Yeah, we use reverse puntuation marks : ¡! ¿?
And we have a letter that anyone in the world have it too: Ñ , ñ
Some word with ´ñ´ (you can try to pronounce the name of the letter as 'enie')

    mañana - maniana - tomorrow
    España - Espania - Spain
    niño - ninio - child
    muñeca - munieca - doll

We have another mark to remark the differents accentuation, for example
avión - plane ; the little mark ' on the O marks that is the more strongly pronounciate syllabe.

Spanish is only a kind of 'castellano', the old language spook in the old kingdom of Castilla. Different varieties of castellano is spook around the world in countries as Mexico, Argentine, Venezuela, and a century ago in Phillipine too.

Hola, Xema! Yeah, with a Spaniard here, what can't we learn about Spain (the country), Spanish (the language) and Spaniards (the people)?

But Wackytpt wants to learn how to compliment a lady, don't teach him "Hasta la vista, baby" yet, or he'll instead.

Oh, it's a problem trying to type those unusual exclamation marks on our regular keyboards, probably have to find where they're 'hidden'. And this verb thingie is a little bit of a headache, with most (European?) languages like French, German too. That's where I've not touched Italian nor German, though I've been wanting to, cos more of these verbs will definitely me. .

Anyway, do pardon my (lack of) Spanish cos I went for part-time courses over 10 years ago for less than a year, on-off.

By the way, Xema, which part of Spain are you in?
    P-L-E-C-O-R-Y=M-A-N-I-A!!! YEAH!
FLORENCE, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science.

Hehehehe (in spanish we type jejejejejejeje)

Mi señora = It´s a fromal way to say 'my wife'.
Señora = Mrs, a got merried woman.
Señorita = Miss, she is a young and no get married woman.

But usually we don´t use this type of expressions...

A casual way to introduce to yourself to a beutifull girl you are just seeing walking on the street:

    Hola (hello)
Te acabo de ver paseando, y eres realmente atractiva.
(I am just seeing walking on the street, and I think you are a really beutifull girl)
Podríamos quedar algun dia para tomar un cafe o ver una pelicula.
(Maybe in the future, we would go to drink coffee or going to cinema.)
Me encataría tener tu número de teléfono.
(I would like get your mobil numeber)

Spanish it´s really complex... in many ocassions I don´t understand another spanish people from other areas.

Somethings about me (as a spaniard) and my living area.

Spain is divive in several part we name 'comunidades' (you would say 'communities'). All them come from an old history, so I live in 'Andalucia', which comes from the old arabic kingdom named 'Andalusí' 500 years ago. My Andalusian Community is a mix of many cultures, arabics, romans, fenicians, tartessians, and so on. And it´s divide in 8 province, the mostimportantof them is Sevilla, which is the capital.

This is a famous square of Sevilla, where was taken some scenes of the famous Episode II of the Star War saga.

Another importat and famous province of Andalucia, is Granada, the last land what belonged to the Andalusí kingdom (1492). There, there are many architecture remaining that time. The most Important it the Alhambra...

It´s a palace which was built by Arabicians.

I was born in the most southern province of Andalucia, only 14 km to Morroco and African Continent, Cádiz. I was born in a city named 'La Linea de la Concepción' in front of the old English colony of Gibraltar.

This is a view of the shire... the montain on the background is Gibraltar.

Gibraltar rock is famous in the world by its monkeys which lives on the top. They are the only one monkey specie in europe.

In claer days I can see Morroco from the window of my house, in the follow image you can see the mountains in Africa in the background.

Actually I live between 2 province, Málaga (where Picasso was burn) and Huelva (where Christobal Colón went to discover the American Continent on 1492).

Spain was in the pass a large nation... from Philliphines to Mexico.

I hope your enjoy with the tales of my country
