    Those plastic backings for aquariums, how do you attach them properly ? cos right now, got bubbles etc.

    use soap water, coat the backing then stick against the glass, cut to the correct size and push the bubble out

    what i did was to wet the background, lay it on the tank
    use the ruler to force out all the bubbles (wet the back to make the smoothing of the background easier, less friction)
    when you're satisfied that there're no bubbles, dry the edges carefully
    use the silicone to seal in all the water
    make sure you get it all around the edges, or the water will eventually evaporate and cause gaps

    silicone, vaseline, they ALL DON'T work
    you will never be able to get a smooth finish with these 2
    use soapy water for a easier task, but that's not advisable if there're things in your tank
