I'm also using 6 tubes of T5 for a 2ft width. Its pretty bright already. Always have difficulties taking pixs using compact camera due to the bright reflections.

I agree with you on that. 6 is bright enough, 8 is too bright.Originally Posted by solonavi

Erh, you could if you want. You can never have too much plant growth, unless it becomes like a sardine can of plants.Originally Posted by grey_fox

bro, you already have hg in there...ha ha. i would suggest planting plants that will stick on rock. mosses, pellia, [if you have to try riccia try mini riccia] etc. this will also barricade your E t from invading the hg too much. you'd still have to snip from xp.

bro, one more thing, i suggest you use like a bunch of narrow leaf jf or windelov. also don't discount focus fish...altums[your tank is big enough], congo tetras etc. or a school of bleeding hearts. or like 200 simulans.
good luck....more ways to part with $$$

Wah what is simulans? looking at getting altums but where to buy? so far hardly see any or maybe I am blind... I already have 2 congos and 2 bleeding hearts (haha maybe too little?). I want to buy a shoal of rummy nose and probably 4 altums.
Btw, where can I attached the windelow or narrow JFs to? So far I can't seem to find Mini Riccia.
Yah haha been investing a lot of money lately. Now thinking of getting a chiller, more money gonna fly away.

simulans are green neons-Paracheirodon simulans
altums get six or more. regret it later if you got less.
if you get altums forget about anything smaller than an adult cardinal tetra.
they become food...
never leave them too hungry...
you can attach them to the DW. at the rule of thirds intersections in your layout. [draw two horizontal lines and two vertical lines to divide your tank into 9 equal parts] one side is fine...aiyah need diagram.
i'll pm you...

Yo stan,
Appreciate your guide and pictures. More or less, I know what you were referring to and where to pin point the areas.
I'll be looking out for windelov at the LFS at my area Had quite a bit before but I threw it away cos got hit by BBA (initial start of aquascaping) hehe.

hi greyfox,
take those as just a rough guide only...so be creative...i find large rosette plant like echinodorus a good focus point. play with what you have first...

Ok, just wanted to update on a few things that I did, recommendation from stan (Thanks dude)
1. Moved the blyxia japonica (thanks to knightx for the blyxia) to the front (on the right) and shifted the amazon to the back.
2. Moved all JF to the DW on the left and have Windelovs on the right + petite nanas (x2)
Left angle of tank
Front view of tank
Right wide angle of tank

I'd trim the hairgrass down to about half their present height to get them started quicker.
Imho there're alot of vertical elements in this picture. All pointing upwards. You need some "anchors" to hold the scape down, like broad leaved Anubias or something. Just a suggestion
Hey terence,
Thanks for the feedback.
Will do the trimming next week. However, what sort of "anchors" and where should they be placed? As for the Anubias, are you referring to Anubias barteri var. barteri

Ok, I've added the latest shot of my tank.

i thought the old setup looked better (the one before shifting stuff)... maybe i'll wait for this to mature..
