Hey JC,

Thinking of trimming the HG when I do the filter change in the next few months. I know once I start trimming its gonna get really messy whereby all the loose trimmings will be all over the place.

Currently I am using 4 x 10,000K (white) and 4 x 6,500K (pink) tubes from Aqua Medic.

Still a long way to go. Need to do trimmings soon, maybe in a week or two.

For the layout, refer to the following thread I have started. Hopefully this will help you out. Works wonders on mine. no mini whirlpool

Plants are pearling, from left -to right, previously before, it was mainly on the left side (facing the tank's direction). Now with the new layout, its good all over, even my nana is pearling!

Basically I removed the surface skimmer and the rain bar. replaced with an outlet angled at 50 degrees downwards and the input bar ALL the way to the bottom, about 4 cm from the substrate.

I'll take a few photos of the connections, its rather simple actually, just that its in a way optimised for water distribution as well as CO2 distribution.
