I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
They are not Cyprinids. Gastromyzon is belong to family "balitorid", sub family : Gastromyzontinae.Originally Posted by benny

Benny, it is a sister family of Cyprinidae, and both belongs to the Order Cypriniformes.

I like this!! The colour so attractive...
So, like loaches, they can be classified as cyprinid-related? And their common name, Hillstream Loach, would be considered valid?

common name doesn't have a basis for validity, there being no authority to regulate their use.

Sorry, rephrase... The word 'loach'... Is it ok to use with this family of fish? The true loaches are also related to cyprinids...
