got some sterbais from seng bros yesterday.
when i release them into my tank, notice one
of them has got a missing eye.
it swims on it's side most of the time
and sometimes even upside down. when it stops swimming,
it'll be on it's side. tetras will peck on it thinking
it's dead. then it'll start swimming again.
    will it survive? []

yeah, leann seems to be good at dealing with poor corys like that. good for you, leann! keep up the good work!

mok, when i got some corys from seng bros previously, after packing, the uncle even held up the bag and both of us inspected that all the corys are ok. (without being asked, and i didn't even think about having to do that.)

unlike lfs where the tanks are smaller and water clearer, we can't really inspect the farm's corys while catching. so i guess checking the bag is a good idea. just my humble thoughts/opinion.

    mok, not eye transplant lah!

unlike some of us who may just be thinking about ending its life, leann may be thinking of giving it a better chance to live by giving it more attention? i think she has a similar cory.

some people just have a special something while dealing with pets/animals, you know?

very hard for me to explain lah. like now i've a sickly-looking cory panda which i think may not make it. but i still want to give it a chance. why, cos i'd 2 sickly pandas last week, i thought "gone case", but 1 of them made it and is now swimming with the rest in the tank!

and when i once found a labrador pup running around near the road, i paid $$$ for a pet transport van to take it to spca and i think it found its owner the next day! why? i've a soft spot for animals. good or not? i really don't know cos the very next day, after i told my colleagues, one of them dropped a baby kingfisher on my desk and i'd to take a cab to drop it at my regular birdshop after work, and the uncle took it to jurong birdpark the next day when he went there for a meeting...and that same colleague dropped another injured baby bird on my desk the 3rd day and wanted to drop a tree lizard on my desk the 4th day...[]

missing an eye is ok for any fish actually. if missing two is worst!! i have a cory thats missing both eyes both doing very well indeed []

if the cory makes u feel uncomfortable then give it to LeAnn, shes very responsible keeper

i've seen blind corys b4. they will usually do fine.
this one is different coz, like wat yimin mentioned,
it recovers on it's side. whenever it stops swimming,
it gets pecked on. no chance to rest peacefully.
it looks healthy and i have no intention to put it down.
leann, let see how it goes first. if it has no chance
in my community tank, it'll be good that you can adopt
    it.

wah few hrs not ard so many post abt me thanks hehehe
well mok i'll take care of it and try to let it be comfortable..

no doubt it is one eyed and swim on the side cos it only can see with one eye.. (cyclops [])

i have a small tank with corys inside so no other fishes to attack it.. and during feeding will put some food near its mouth..

if u decide to put it down dun post it here.. i'll feel hurt.

    thanks

the lopsided thing is not due to having one eye
i've seen many cories with one eye swim normally
might be a swim bladder infection

hope u can keep us updated, but i suggest if u dont wish to keep it then let LeAnn 'adopt' it for u, her tank very peaceful.

yah.. especially now that she is NUTS over cories.. which i think is probably due to influence from RAIN.. hahaha.. and judging the way RAIN mentioned abt her tank and her dedication to Cories now, i would say that her tank have reached the stage of 'Zen'.. hahhaha[] Peace and serenity...

here's the sterbai resting on it's side.
seems to be doing ok after a week.
will probably leave it in the community tank.
