The black walls are either black styrofoam that they stick inside the tank or black paper/sticker that they stick outside the back of the tank.

I think blue might be a nicer color for your consideration. More punchy color contrast against anything reddish.

By the way, water parameter and diet is what makes the color of your shrimp attractive. The background can only enhance a little. That's all.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

    oh thanks for the info...
so any idea what is the ideal water parameter for CRS?

    my tank parameters are:

    tank size around 1ft x 1ft.. slightly bigger..with 1 fan installed,
temp highest is 25C, temp can go down to 20C at nite.. due to air con..
    pH around 6.2-6.8..
sponge filter installed..lightings is a clip on lamp...
has a carpet of mini riccia...
    has 4 Grade B CRS and 3 Grade C...
feeding them with hikari sinking pellets

trying out with lower grade to see whether it can survive..

Seem pretty good! Keep the feeding sparing so as not to polute the water.

I think there are some special type of shrimp food available if you want better colors for your shrimps.

    Cheers,
i only drop in 1 pellet for only about 2+ hrs a day.. after that i take it out...
don't want to have excessive foods in the tank...

hmmm.. special type of shrimp foods?
i see most of the other forumers are feeding sinking pellets too...
well, anyone has any other recommendations for shrimp foods?

I don't know if they work, but I do saw some shrimp food, seems to be for "colour enhancement" especially made for CRS, selling in NA.

    Its just beside Ferka Ferts!
    Its selling for $19!
I think its enough to last your CRS for many generations!

No problems! All valid shrimp discussion. I've changed the title to accomodate a wider scope of discussion.

Anyone with pictures of the special food? Will be good for those who might be looking out for it.

read from some websites that they fed CRS with blood worms and they believe that it would improve their colours...
    is that true?
