i am right now using Eheim 2008, a bit overpowering for my tank but still quite ok since i am converting to cichlid setup which bioload is higher ... if not, you can get the Eheim 2006.

As this two internal are pretty old models, maybe you can try Soon Heng88?

I'd go wif the Eden 304 if it's a planted tank, coz the flow is very gentle, but the Eheim 2006 is fine too.

U can try C328, nature, and sam yick for the 304. 2006 is available at sam yick too...

I saw the Eden 304 at Clementi 328 for $18. Got a few units left. Petmart - last time I enquired, not available.

BTW - my Eden 304 burnt out after 2 months of use. I guess it's just my luck. Other pple don't seem to have the problem. Anyway, Petmart (the place I bought from) say they won't honour the 1-yr warantee stated in the enclosed manual. No choice.

ya, forgot to mention, eden304 if it's a planted tank.
for a mainly-fish tank, go for something with a higher
capacity. ehiem internals are too big imo. can consider
overhang filters too although the selection will be limited.

juggler, guess you got a lemon. mine has been running for
    >1 year and it's still quiet and efficient.

Used Eden304 in my former 2ft, ran for a year without problems. Now it's in my 1m tank mainly for circulation
    Cheers!!

hi, want to share that with the eden 304 (and perhaps other similar models), the taiwan-made rainbar in the black box fits perfectly. i used this setup for surface circulation in my old 2ft mainly-fish tank. that is, for those who's thinking of fitting a rainbar...

I've used various Eden filters and pumps for a few years. No problems at all.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:

hi coryfav ... sorry what black box is that ? overhead filter ? i've a 2 ft as well that comes with a custom overhead filter .... pump is rated at max 300l/hr only. further it's split into 2 output ... 1 to the overhead filter and the other near the surface for circulation which i'm tapping as a water input for my co2 reactor.

not seen the eden 304 before ... is it abt the same size as a 3-ball UP CO@ reactor ?? what's the flow rate like ? thks.

peter, eden 304 is only a small internal filter lah. don't think enough for 2ft tank. what i was trying to say is that those who wants to fix a rainbar to an internal filter, can use the one that comes in a black box. sorry ah, can't remember the brand of the rainbar, but is taiwan-made and cost only about $4 something from b328.

Peter, those overhead filter will lose your CO2, not good for planted tanks. Also try to minimise water turbulence (just like shaking coke causes CO2 to bubble out).
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

    Thanks for all the input.
Bot the eden 304 for my small low-tech planted tank.
Found it to be very silent and the flow rate is adjustable.
    Overall a good small filter.
