    Hi,
I am in process of setting up a 1.5ft planted tank. The main concern is LOW Maintanence, Long interval between water changes.
Here's the spec on the tank:
-Running on 500L/Hr Dolphin hanging filter
    -11W PL light
    -No CO2

Planted with Long Hairgrass, Crypt and small sword. The substrate is fine sand.

I am thinking of 2 or 3 fishes only, to keep a Low Bio-load. Any suitable fishes here? I am thinking of small Angel fish, but will the turbulance cause by the filter trouble the Angel fish?

The Boraras fishes come into mind like briggitae, merah, maculatus. B.briggitae is especially beautiful in a stable tank with thick growth.

Angelfish... they'll outgrow the tank anyway, and then where will you put them?

A pair of exotic bettas ca be probable residents too!

ya....put in those exotic labyrinth fishes...they are nice...!!!

but the filter seems a little strong for those close-to-stagnant-water loving fishes...

I have a betta living in my 2 foot planted with a hanging filter, no problem, in fact it seems to be enjoying itself there.

Thanks for all the help. I think Chocolate Gourami would be good. Anybody got any experience with this fish?
I plan to keep only 2 will this be ok? Also, in case I need to add other fishes later, what are the compatables? Can I put in golden algae eater with Choc gourami?

Where can I buy the choc gourami?

    Thanks.

There is a shop in loyang point in the shop and save supermarket, the guy there has some choc gouramis that are already tank stable. I think it is 1.50 or 1 dollar a peice. So if you stay in the East side, it will be easy to pop by there and get some.

How about a pair of apistos? Surely a good candidate for a nice planted tnak as well.

    Hi,
My tank have been cycling for about 3 weeks now. The 1 of the 3 feeder fish (platies) that I have introduced 2 weeks ago died. I did not feed the fish since I have put them in the tank.
It may have died of hunger or stress.

I also put in small Nana, planted directly into the sand. Only the roots are buried, the main stem is above the sand. Will update more pictures tonight!

The feeder fish occasionaly rub itself against the plant or the sand, I do not see the action often, maybe about 2 or 3 times a day, is it itch? Do I need to do anything to the water?

Probably the fish is trying to rub the scale off their body to feed on them

But seriously, why do you not want to feed them?
