Cheers,
no fish pix, so post some flower shots to share
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

I agree. But unlike Nikon, the Canon 100 mm macro does not have IS!!Originally Posted by hwchoy

actually I am surprised how sharp these pix turned out, considering that this are shot in the open (windy) and in the early morning (not much direct sunlight). e.g. the first two pix were shot at 1/100s and 1/125s respectively on a f=100mm lens.
in fact in the second pix I had to grip the flower with one hand and shoot with the other hand, very windy.

Yeah! I like the first pic too. I thought you brought along a piece of black cloth.
On the contrary, I feel that others are good except the 1st one. Even though you shot wide open and only a selected area would remain sharp, overall the whole thing looks too oof. Imho, bokeh works nice if you can make the selected area stands out with the remaining blurred. In this case, the bokehs seem to be everywhere due to the structure of the flower stems(sorry i dunno what the actual term u call it).I would prefer if everything is in focus n sharp.
