Hi
Might be going to HK, know that there's a street full of fish shops, wondering if anyone can tell me which one sell things at reasonable price since there's so many shops.
Particularly interested in the new Eden small external filter.
Thanks.

It really helps if you are able to speak Cantonese. Several of the shops have the same owners so there is some standardization of prices... but that said there can be large $$$ variations if you are lucky.
So it seems that must go thru shop by shop liao

Yes shop by shop. I recommend a pen and paper to write the shop details down as you will see something that you like, but forget which shop, which corner you saw the compelling item and have to search the street again to find it!
i went there earlier in feburary. i was there looking for eden 501 but to no avail they told me no stock. they have similar cannister filters but of other brands though (Dazs and Shibuya)
as for equipment, they actually list out the prices so i doubt you can observe large fluctuations.
as for language wise, even though i speak a little cantonese, they were speaking too fast for me to comprehend
if you really want a bargain, according to others, you can try Shenzhen, but then you have to ask other forummers here already
It is not cheap. The cheapest is in singapore. For this reason, many very beautiful fishes did not arrive at our shore cos fish in Singapore cannot command high price like in H.K and Japan. In example, L173 pleco !!!!!!

That's because all available units along Fish Street were soaked up for the AQ mass order. The stocks in Hong Kong were only replenished around end Feb.Originally Posted by gregorsamsa
