Just finished setting out and run my nano tank. Below are the DIY stuffs:

    Canister filter
    Powerhead - Flowrate of 40 to 60 (max)l/hr
Media - Eheim ceramic rings, biohome plus, normal ceramic rings
Pipings - Eheim pipes drilled as rainbar, Eheim J-bar
    Rubberhose
    Air tight container
    Bends

    Tank
Five Plan cube with 11 W lighting

    Lighting (Total of 27W)
2x8W NO HO T5 with AquaZ T5 reflectors
Five plan 11W lighting (come with the tank)

    Substrate
    Dennerle

    Plants
    Still thinking what to use

Had the idea of having a nano tank in my bedroom a few days ago. Initially just wanted to have a 10x6x8 inches nano tank by using my acrylic betta tank. As I dont like IOS system and also hang on filter, I got to find a canister. There's no canister filter in the market that I know with suitable flowrate for my tank size. The only way is to DIY. Having spent 2 days searching for the smallest powerhead, at last I found 1 with 60 l/hr but it's still too strong. Set-up my first on Friday night but the container (claimed to be airtight) leaked. Threw away the canister and bought a new one on Saturday morning. Had everything connected and ready to test once the silicone is set.

So while waiting, I went to Serangoon North to find other accessories for the intended nano tank, I came across a nice 10 inches Five Plan tank set. out of impulsive, I bought the tank. I also don't like clip on lights. So went to get the shortest lights I could find. Luckily found this NO T5. Using 2 8W NO T5 with a 2ft AquaZ T5 reflector cut into half, I had the lighting done.

1 question as a less than 2 mth newbie. Is my flowrate to too weak? If too weak, Then what flowrate shall I use? The next lowest flowrate of a powerhead that I found is 150l/hr.

Can you verify whether it is NO T5 lightset or HO T5 lightset. Never heard of LO HO T5 lightset.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.

Think he is trying to say a NO... Given the design, should be NO.... Buy from Ikea or DIY shops...

I thought setting out means positioning by measuring, right? Isnt setting up a tank need setting out? I did that on my driftwood, lighting and my rain bar...doesnt make sense?

Just finished setting out and run my nano tank. Below are the DIY stuffs:
