    Anyone knows where to get those small coconut husks for aquarium usage? Looking for those 3-4 inches small ones

    think u can just make yourself from the ones found in supermarkets...
    those white colour (about 4") types... have liquid and meat to eat also...

    yes, i saw Eco-culture even have size smaller than 3" coconut husks .i dont know is it for sale.

    Bro make sure you clean them properly. Tried using one last time and it had lots of oil left. Took some time before i managed to get rid of the oil.

    yeah do make sure you clean out all the coconut flesh as well as the membrane that is attached to the shell.. scrape the darn thing witha spoon and let it soak for a week or 2

    Just to share with all here.
    Yesterday, i pick up 1 brown cocount. It those coconut trees which were planted at housing estates or parks, mostly orange in colour.
    I remove the husk & cut one end of it to create a cave it is small as compare to those coconut which were on sale. It is over shape & provide a elongated cave for Apisto Not too big size

    I bought 1 small coconut, beige and smooth type, a dollar each.....cut into half and peel off the flesh, which peels off very easily and have them soak for a day or 2 before taking a spoon and scraping off the leftover membrane.....whole process takes less than 3 days.....

    haa..nope.. loaches. I got a husk in my tank too. They use it for sleeping purposes

    maybe i can also try it for my shrimps tank? keke. Maybe tie it with moss ? should be great hiding place for them
