I dose them in mornings, or a couple of hours before lights are on.
Found that dosing at night doesn't really change anything.

I add them when I switch on the lights. But does it really matter? The ferts will still be in the water waiting to be absorbed right?

I usually dose after water change and in the morning mid-week after lights on for an hour or so.
...I love rubies too ...

Actually, with reference to the lighting period is a more accurate comparison. I'm locking this thread to edit the poll choices. Come back in about 10 mins please.
Update: Done... I believe Fei Miao's vote is still valid according to his post above.

Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Depends on water conditions and types of ferts used... some ferts may be converted to un-usable forms after some time. Best to dose at the start of the lighting period when the plants need the ferts the most during the lighting/photosynthesis period.Originally Posted by Weirong

Thanks alot, Bro Vincent!
For adding the poll in for me!
Only managed to read Bro Benny's reply on how to add a poll after I submitted this thread!
Thanks!
You're welcomed. Benny added the poll... I edited it.

Dose at 8.23am and 56seconds.. this is when the sun rises at an angle of 17degrees to the earth and the rotational field generated, along the axis of the moon on the other side, is just right for fertilizers.
Haha, and reverse it if you are in the southern hemisphere for more lunar madcap planting ideas, see: http://home.hiwaay.net/~krcool/Astro/moon/moongrow.htm and: http://www.home-herb-garden.com/moon.htmlOriginally Posted by ranmasatome
Solunar theory aside, I read somewhere that plants take up nitrates when lights are off, that's why one should still dose some KNO3 during a blackout.
For me however, I dose whenever it is convenient. It used to be after lights out when I have the time to do my own things. Now I dose at dawn before I go out to work. Both I notice, work well for the plants.

do you does it every week or month?
do it once a week during my water change for my 2 ft tank.
Some I dose daily because it is easy (1 pump from the bottle with top-ups)
Others I dose on alternate days.

I heard about liquid fert, I bought a bottle.
In a lazy afternoon, I added with enthusiasm.
I added just that tiny little few drops
Hoping it'll do wonder
Alas! The next moment
My dearies fell sick
Cursed the liquid fert
I'll make do without it.
Plants still flourished
green and healthy!
If you don't need it
Just make do without it!

i think it's a use your common sense question. when lights on or after wc for those who do weekly dosing.
