    Hi guys,

I know some of the hobbyist can't stand dwarf cichlids that are from shops like C328 and think that they are trash. Oh well.... to each his own and I enjoy my S$4 fish just as much as other folks enjoy their S$400 Apistogramma elizabethae 'super red'.

This is my latest addtion to my apisto tank. I got him this evening and it's still showing stress coloration (the black bar on the chin is not showing). I had two males to induce flaring and got a happy snappy of it before my camera ran out of battery.

    Enjoy!!

    Cheers,

p.s. I am aware that the fish has a split ventral fin.
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

aah see that he's not so stressed anymore...
very nice for a $4 fish... shows that you don't need to buy some top dollar fish to get a top dollar look.

Benny just curious, do you have a huge tank with many species of Apisto living in it or do you have many tanks?

Oh... I will be very careful with that statement. Might ruffle a few feathers. This is like the S$4 A. agassizii versus the S$400 A. agassizii debate. But I do believe the true value of the fish is in the amount of pleasure you get out of it.

Hmmm... I have many tanks with many dwarf cichlids living in it. How does that sound? Actually, it's all going to go in a few weeks. Have started tearing everything down and just cleared 2 X 1 ft and 1 X 2 ft set up.

It's interesting that when the flash hits the fish at a different angle, the coloration seems different. Here, the iridescence is not apparent and the reds are more obvious.

These are all pictures of the same fish, as can be identified by the split ventral fins.

So the lesson is: Before you want to sell your apisto, buy kopi for Benny to "kah-jiao" him to take photo for you, then post the beautiful photo to fetch a higher price.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Unfortunately, these guys are quite quarrelsome and have been at each other since they were introduced into the tank. Fins are not longer in such good condition due to their fights.

Anyway, here's another one that I had bought earlier that's in another tank.

It's a shame that I've lost my females. Otherwise, it would be great to have a pair and see if they'll spawn.

    Hi Benny, nice apisto!

I like stout looking apistos such as Panduro and Nijsenni.
Seems quite affordable. Do they have males/females at C328?
