    1. which config would you buy 2 x 1GB or 1 x 2BG?

    2. any particular brand and speed that i should look for?

    3. would appreciate if someone has a lobang (opportunity) to share on where to get these cards.

    IMO:

    1. 1 X 2 GB, if the possibly higher price doesn't bother you. CF cards are in general reliable, and there is a thing to be said about having to swap cards in and out.

    2. If you need high speed cards, some folks swear by Lexar 80X. If you're not shooting in sports photography or in continuous drive all the time, and don't mind waiting for a few seconds each time your 350D has to clear its buffer when you shoot in RAW, normal speed cards are OK - e.g. those Kingston ones.

if you forsee yourself shooting alot, then get the biggest you can afford. or else, get smaller sized ones. I hardly shoot above 1gb, except for holidays. Most of the time, its not even half full. If you are worried about quality, then suggest your get lexar or sandisk.

Lexar 80X cards are known to have compatibility problems with Canon cameras, including the Canon EOS 350D digital SLR. Also, Lexar's write acceleration technology is not support by Canon. Canon's write speed on any high speed card is already very fast.

Also, using the Lexar 80X card will not make your camera write much faster compared to other high speed cards. It's all in the camera buffer, which you can do anything about.

At preset, I will only use Sandisk CF/SD cards with all my cameras due to previous reliability issues that I had with Lexar.

I'm not a Canon user (I'm a Minolta DSLR user), so I wasn't speaking from having used it before. I'm using Kingston CF cards.

Still, I wasn't aware there were compatibility problems though; perhaps the OP may want to check with the other experts at Clubsnap at http://forums.clubsnap.org.

Here a report containing links to both companies with the respective press releases.

There are many more links on the web documenting this well known fiasco.

The local distributor was overwhelmed with returns at one point in time.

However, I had problem even with the 40X Lexar cards. Subsequently, I dump all of them and swap to SanDisk. No problem so far. Touch wood.
