Picked up one of these today at the LFS while i was buying some corydoras..
They were labeled as Hypehssobrycon sp..
Sorry for the crappy pick.. i had a MUCH better one but deleted it accidentally ...
Anyway..will set up the photo shoot tank and take better pics of it when my flashes are all set up..

Its still in stress colouration.. fins are apparently red and body is more yellowish..with a black dot at the caudal peduncle

its actually got quite a mean pair of gnashers... was afraid it would bite my fishies.. so separated it out and left it alone..

anyway.. i scopped up the four unknowns at biotope tonight already.. When in stress they look a distinctly different colour.. could it be male / female??

if it is a hyphessobrycon it's one of the few that has a peduncle spot, most have either a line or shoulder mark, it looks a decent fish though i'll wait until a better pic is shown when they've settled down.

The unknown tetras are doing quite well..as of this morning..
Mick, it does have a lateral line.. it more like metallic green/yellow though.. and not the black usual ones seen..
The caudal peduncle spot is back the colour is still off though.. i'll wait a bit more.

i took some pics today after placing it into the unknown tetra tank.. it seems to be quite peaceful..
pictures are definitely better this time.. Quick little bugger.. had to wait a lot to get a good opportunity to snap..Anyway..here they are.. reminds me of a certain moenkhausia..
lol..he was trying to eat some fur from my doggies..
reminds me of the african moon tetra group.
