I felt shy to say that my Jass Moss never seem to grow well.
Their stems are black in color.
Lighting is quite low, about 1.6 watts per gallon but I understand that they do no need high lighting.

from my understanding, java moss perform differently in individual tanks.. could be the water parameter or temp.

Possibility is nutrients. My APP thrived at one point, then started dying out although my other plants (rooted) were still doing well. Recently, I increased frequency of my liquid fert and some of the leftovers seem to be doing better.

So, take a look see in the nutrient factor for your Java Moss. Do you have any other plants that are not rooted to your substrate? If so, how are those doing? I assume your rooted plants are doing ok?
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
