what an excellent way to get rid of a poor unfortunate monster.
Hi Guys,
Share with you a joke. Just the day before, I met up with an old friend(very boastful ah beng ). We chatted and soon the conversation turned to aquatics. My friend here was also a fish lover, he had a Luohan of monstrous proportions. The pride of his aquatic endeavours. He was swearing about an cure he found for his luohan which was infected with ICH, something about pouring hot water into the tank so I ask how? Did it really work?? No lah! was the exclamation, the fish died!! I asked what happened? My dad lor! pour hot water on the fish! Don't know where he got that stupid information from........

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

My friend claim he paid $1288 for it! Anyway, it was hilarious the way he put it in hokkien.

Woah it sure did killed the ich ... along with the luohan!!!

Ehhhhh... probably someone told his dad to raise the water temperature to cure ich... and forgot to mention how to do it.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Poached luohan for dinner anyone??
I heard luohans taste good

I was told they have muddy taste.

Not sure whether you guys know this? At the height of the Luohan craze, there were many concoction to make the fish's head bigger and colour prettier. I would'nt touch any Luohan meat if I were you, wait your head swell, don't say I never warn you hor.

Vinz, most of the freshwater fish taste muddy except for our 'soon hock' and 'bak shok gong'( catfish from our neighbour state ) which is pure heaven if properly cooked. You will not eat another freshwater fish if you have tasted it. If we do go on a trip over there, can't wait....those found here just don't taste the sameOriginally Posted by vinz
PS: The meat of this fish will beat white pompret, grouper and most snapper hands down.

I think soon hock also got the muddy taste if not done properly... Was this the fish normally used for fish head curry?Originally Posted by michael lai
Vincent, curry fish head is snapper head not soon hock. Soon hock is like a huge ugly Goby in brown colour.

Soon hocks are super hardy fishes!
I had one kept in a 3feet outdoor tank!
There was once it jumped out!
Din noticed it until I was about to leave for work and my dog was barking none-stop!
It led me to the soon hock, which was motionless and almost covered with ants! Must have been there for hour liao!
Though it was dead already and intended to throw it away!
I picked up a net and scooped it up!
It strrugled!
I had a shock of my life and dropped the fish!
I picked it up again and throw back into the tank!
IT"S ALIVE!!!
My mum gave it the salt treatment and it miraculous it survived!
It's still with me now and is at least a foot long!!!
It is time, Evolim........
